Automn council in Mainz, good developments

In week 42 the Aquapol council meeting was held in the IBIS hotel in Mainz , Germany. The president Mr. Oberle chaired the meeting and kept a tight time schedule, so all agenda items could be dealt with. In the opening he introduced Mr. Werner Blatt, Inspector and the highest policeman in Rhineland-Palatine, who is a strong supporter of Aquapol. Aside of the usual items there were some topics that deserved special attention. For instance the financing of Aquapol of which the Director could proclaim that after some difficulties this year, the future looks good. The presentation of the results of the Dutch MACO in week 40 by Mr. Harry Elling was impressing as well as astonishing. As soon as the English version is available it will be published on the website. The Guardia Civil from Spain will organize a MACO in Maritime Shipping next year and Mr. Antonio Fernández gave a good and extended presentation about this. It will be placed on the website soon. The council said goodbye to Mrs. Randuzkova who is leaving the SPS in Slovakia and also Mr. Tóth from Hungary who is retiring. In the end of the meeting two discussion groups talked about the items that the Director had distributed about the functioning of the Aquapol network and management, which was very useful. The outcome will be published on the website.
